... smoking cessation ... health checks 40 - 74 years ... chlamydia screening ... care quality commission - we are registered ... riverport medical practice august 2108 update latest news we have recently employed an advanced nurse practitioner and a senior practice nurse to our team and believe that they will be instrumental in helping us to offer a wider range of clinicians with whom our patients can consult. within our group we will have a mix of male and female gps all of whom have individual specialities, 2 nurse practitioners, 4 practice nurses, 3 healthcare assistants, 4 dispensers and a team of managers, administrators and receptionists. we are all really excited about the merger of our practices and the improvements we will be making to our systems and services. staff training at the end of august and through the first half of september all staff at both parkhall and orchard surgeries will be undergoing training on their new clinical system. this piece of work will ensure that the merger between northcote house, orchard surgery and parkhall surgery goes through smoothly. we are still on schedule for the merger of our contracts at the beginning of october and the computer systems will be fully merged by the third week of october. what is not changing? there are no plans to change the telephone numbers at each site. this means our patients can still contact their preferred site, however, by the end of october, we will be able to offer a choice of location for various appointments. patients will still be able to see their preferred clinician, but we hope they will take advantage of our wider team and their expertise. need more information? - the three individual practices submitted an application to nhs england & cambridgeshire & peterborough ccg requesting that we be allowed to merge and form a group practice. we are really pleased to announce that this has been approved and we are now working towards this aim. as three small practices we were all finding it difficult to meet the challenges of resilience, provision of appointments over extended hours and recruitment. as a group we are confident that we will be able to better manage these for our patients. one of the first big changes is that orchard and parkhall will change their clinical software so all sites will be using systmone. this needs to happen prior to the actual merger and is scheduled for august/september 18. after the official merger the systems at all sites will be linked. this merger has given our staff a new goal to work towards and we are all looking forward to our new way of working and providing more services for our patients across the sites. when will it happen?
